Perhaps it is because Velia, so close to the academy, has begun trading with Nampo... The students are becoming increasingly interested in the Land of the Morning Light. It is so far away that even news is difficult to come by, which only gives me more to worry about.

Unlike me, my father is very proud of these students. Even when I ask what will happen if they get hurt, he refuses to listen. He says an adventurer must have a spirit of adventure.

I have heard that entry procedures for the Land of the Morning Light are quite strict. Their way of life is also said to be completely different from ours...

All this worrying is giving me a headache.


May 5

I felt far too restless to remain in bed, so I got up at dawn and headed to the docks in Velia. Sure enough, one of the students had forgotten the lunch they meant to take aboard. I hurried back to our farm and brought them whatever I could find.

They grabbed my hands and cried with gratitude, which caught me a little off guard, but I was relieved that everything worked out.

Only after watching the students depart did I finally feel at ease. When I returned home, all the tension left me at once, and I fell into a deep sleep.
