More students have recently been setting out for the Land of the Morning Light. The docks in Velia have grown busier, and the route has become much safer.

Just as I was beginning to think I could finally send them off without worrying, I heard troubling news. An epidemic is spreading in the Land of the Morning Light as well. The moment I heard, fear took hold of me.

Could it be the Black Death?

As soon as the thought crossed my mind, my anxiety only grew. For the time being, I should stop any students planning to travel there.

A letter arrived from the students who had already left for the Land of the Morning Light. They wrote that they had defeated the monster responsible for spreading the epidemic.

The moment I read that they had gone to confront such a creature, my heart nearly stopped. At the same time, I could not help feeling proud that our students had succeeded.

Unable to contain myself, I jumped to my feet and went to tell my father. He was overjoyed, saying that students of our academy should be capable of at least that much.
