Chapter 2: The Gates of Aetherion

We made it to the castle gates together. Jordine stepped forward, and the moment he laid his hand on the door, the gate swung open. No way... Did Jordine know I'd run into another version of himself here?

We pushed deeper inside, but as we tried to enter the inner keep, alarms suddenly blared.

Monsters came flooding out, and from the other side, a strange, powerful veil crept closer. We fought our way through the horde and barely escaped the advancing veil, yet the outer gate slammed shut behind us and wouldn't budge.

"He clearly wants something from us.
Until it's ready, that door won't so much as creak."

With no better plan, we followed Jordine's lead to a spot marked by a peculiar boulder. There, Muraka appeared—the same beast I'd seen before in Calpheon.

Just as I'd suspected... Jordine really is the master of this place.

"Hah! So, ten years from now, I'm commanding creatures like that?"
