Tale of Rusalka and the Shipwreck

Description

One stormy day, Rusalka saw something tossed about in the raging sea and swam toward it.

It was a shipwreck, half-destroyed and barely afloat. She hadn't expected survivors, but checked the wreck all the same.

In a flooded cabin, she found an unconscious man. Somehow, she managed to bring him ashore. When he awoke, he thanked her.

But when he asked how he survived and Rusalka started to introduce herself, his expression shifted the moment he heard the word Mermaid.
