In the Land of the Morning Light, a manger is a log that is halved and hollowed to contain animal feed. It is made from a sturdy log so it doesn't break when it comes into contact with larger livestock. As the manger can break if used immediately after being made, it is left in the shade and used as a urine bowl for Humans for about two years.
