Giant Oarfish

Description

A saltwater fish belonging to the silver-white oarfish family whose body reaches lengths up to 4.6m. Inhabits the deep sea regions 1,000m below surface and can grow up to 8m in length.

As it normally inhabits the deeper seas, giant oarfish found close to shallow waters are mostly discovered deceased.
